Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt, popularly known as Sanju is the most talented Indian bollywood actor and the winner of two Filmfare Awards. Throughout his career Sanjay gave several unforgettable hits but his career got a break when he was caught in to the custody by Mumbai Police for illegal possessions of armaments during 1993 bomb blast. In spite of so many controversies Sanjay’s performance as an actor is no doubt appreciable.

Sanju was born on July 29 , 1959 to a legendary actor Sunil Dutt and Actress Nargis. He got his primary education from Lawrence School, Sanawar in Himahcal Pradesh. Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt are her two sisters. At a tender age of 12, Sanju tried his acting talent in his father’s film Reshma Aur Shera. During his childhood, Sanjay got an addiction of drugs. Being the only son of two most renowned celebrities made him little stub-born, which consequently made him an addict. Sunil Dutt sent him to Drug Rehab Center, Texas for rehabilitation. Soon Sanju came back with a decent personality to start on his film career. Mean while his mother Nargis died of cancer just before his first release Rocky.

After the successful release of Rocky, Sanju worked seriously in several other films like Vidhaata (1982), Naam (1986) and Hathyar (1989). All the movies were successful in box office and gave Sanju the tag of a talented actor. In 1987 Sanju married a short term actress, Richa Sharma who once nursed Sanju to bring him back from lung injury. Unfortunately just two months after borth of their first child Trishala, Richa was found to be suffering from cancer. Both of them separated and Sanju continued his acting career in bollywood.

After these tragedies in his personal life, Sanju backed up with Sadak (1991) and Saajan (1991). Saajan was a super hit film of that time and he received a great applause from all across the Nation. His role as a crippled poet who has fallen in love to one of her fan, created a magical spell in movie lovers. He got a nomination in Filmfare Best Actor Award for his role. Subhash Ghai’s Khalnayak boosted his career to its peak. Meanwhile, Sanju was taken in custody with TADA case. He was found guilty of possessing AK-56 rifle in concern with Abu Salem the gangster. Coming out of all the controversies in the year 1999, Sanju gave a release with Vaastav.  The movie was a great box office hit. Mission Kashmir (2000) and finally Munna Bhai M.B.B.S (2003). His role in Munna Bhai was critically acclaimed all over the Nation and earned him Filmfare Best Comedian Award. Kaante (2002, Musafir (2004) and Zinda (2005), all the movies were successful hits. His latest release with Lage Raho Munna Bhai was such a great hit that it created a spark of Gandhigiri all around the country. He spread the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi with this film which made him as a role model for many of his fans. Shoot Out At Lokhandwala (2007) was his last release which also did well in box office.
