Rani Mukherjee

Rani mukherjee, is the most popular and talented actress of bollywood industry. He is an award winning actress and has entertained Indian movie lover with her stunning acting performance. Unlike rest of the actresses Rani has never been stuck to a same kind of role, from a bubbly college going girl to an insane deaf, dumb and blind girl, she has shown her acting talent in all these challenging roles.

Born on 21st March, 1978, Rani belonged to a film-oriented Bengali family. Her father Ram Mukherjee was a film director and mother was a play back singer. Since class 10th onward mukherjee was very much interested to dancing and she learned odissi. She did her high schooling from Maneckji Cooper High School and then accomplished her higher studies from Mithibai college in Mumbai. Rani first attempted her acting talent in her father’s home production Biyer Phool (1992) . Her first acting debut in bollywood industry was Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat (1996). Rani acted as a rape victim in the movie and her performance didn’t went unnoticed. But due to failure of that movie, Rani gave up her mind to go for acting and then again started her studies. In the year 1998 Rani was signed for the film Ghulam with Aamir Khan. The movie did quite well in box office and by acting opposite to star cast as Aamir Khan was itself a great achievement. Finally she gave a stunned performance in  karan Johar’s, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Acting with Shahrukh and Kajol, Rani gave a strong character role and was awarded Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. She then gave several releases like that of Badal (2000) with Bobby Deol, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke (2001) which didn’t made much impact on box office. Rather her role as women who hire a surrogate mother didn’t got much appreciation. She then acted with star cast of these time Hrithik and Kareena in Mujhse Dosti Karoge. Though movie couldn’t bring much fame to Rani but fetched her with lots of money by doing great business overseas.

In the year 2003, Shaad Ali’s Saathiya was critically acclaimed and was regarded as the highest grossing film of the year. Her role in the movie was critically acclaimed all across the Nation. She even got Filmfare Best Actress Nomination for her outstanding role in Saathiya. In 2003, Rani worked with shahrukh Khan in the movie Chalte Chalte . Movie was again a hit and gave her nomination for best actress in filmfare. In 2004, her performance in Yuva got a huge applause. Her role earned her with Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. Successively on that same year Rani appeared in Hum Tum, which was the biggest hit of that year. The movie finally rewarded rani with Filmfare Best Actress Award.In 2005, Sanjay leela Bhansali’s, Black gave a very challenging role to Rani, which she did so brilliantly that she achieved IIFA Award as well as Filmfare Best Actress Award for the same movie on that role of a deaf, dumb and a blind girl. Her outstanding performance in Kabhi Alwida Na Kahna (2006) again fetched her with theird IIFA Best Actress Award. Recently her release Ta Ra Rum Pum is working Laaga Chunri Me Daag is doing good in box office.
