Ajay Devgan

Ajay Devgan  is one of the most renowned actors of Indian Film Industry. He is a National Film Award winning actor and has given several classic movies throughout his career. He started his career as an action hero but later emerged as a matured and serious role in his movies. His profound devotion to acting has now made him one of the most successful actors of bollywood industry.

Born in the year 1969, Devgan belonged to a punjabi family. Devgan accomplished his primary eduication from Bapu School and achieved his higher studies from mithibai College. He had a filmy background with father Veeru Devgan as a choreographer and brother Anil Devgan as a Film director.

Ajay made her debut in Hindi cinema with the film Phool Aur Kante, acting as a son to Amrish Puri. The movie was a great hit and earned him with Filmfare Best Debut Award. Since then Ajay was accepted and cheered by the movie lover as an action hero. His next movies with Mahesh Bhatt, Zakhm was highly appreciated and made him a hot face of bollywood. He was rewarded with several prestigious awards including National Film Award for Best actor and Star Screen Award Best Actor. Most of his films that time were totally action based and fetched him to gain a lot of popularity nation wide. Jigar (1992), was a successful action movie. While shooting for the film, Ajay even got injured during a bike stunt. Soon, Ajay tried his talent in little different stream with the comedy movie Ishq. Acting with Aamir, Kajol and Juhi, Ajay gave a big hit.
His Film, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha (1998) was one of the biggest hit of the year. Ajay was critically acclaimed for his performance in his next movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). Acting with co-star Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, his extraordinarily brilliant performance fetched him for nomination in  Filmfare Best Actor Award. With this huge success Ajay married the most talented actress of that time, Kajol. Now they have a daughter named as Nysa Mukherjee Devgan.

Further, Ajay gave few good hits working under Ram Gopal Verma and was particularly acclaimed for his role in dramatic movie, Company. His performance was highly acclaimed and earned him with second Star Screen Best Actor Award. The same year Ajay acted in a burning role of freedom fighter, Bhagat Sing, in the movie, “The Legend Of Bhagat Singh”. It ignited a spark of nationality in millions of youth all across the Nation. Ajay was rewarded with National Film Best Actor Award for this movie. The year 2004 didn’t go that good for Ajay as two of his release, Yuva and Raincoat, couldn’t do well in the box office. But soon in 2006 Ajay gave a sensational appearance in Omkara, a movie based on Shakespeare’s Othelo. His performance in Omkara was highly acclaimed. In the year 2008 Ajay gave some good hits with Halla Bol and Sunday. His latest release U, Me Aur Hum is doing fabulously good these days. Working with his wife Kajol in U Me Aur Hum, Ajay has given a different touch to bollywood and the movie is like to be a great Box Office Hit.
