Emraan Hashmi

Emraan was born in the year 1979 under a Muslim family. His father was Muslim but her mother was a catholic. Initially Emraan did change his name from Emraan Hashmi to Farhan Hashmi, but later reverted to his original name. He has firm belief in astrology and that’s why Emraan gave so much importance to his name as per numerological calculation. Hashmi completed his graduation from sydenham college, Mumbai. There only he learned few courses on graphics and animation. Emraan is also known as nephew of Mahesh Bhatt as well as cousin of actress cum director Pooja Bhatt. Emraan has also few relatives residing in Pakistan.

Emraan first made his debut in Bollywood with the movie Foorpath.  He played the role of Raghu srivastava in Foorpath. However the movie was not a great hit, but acting under Aftab Shivdesani and ipasha Basu made him learn a lot. Emraan first came in to lime light with the movie, Murder in 2004. Acting in the lead role as Sunny, Emraan starred Mallika Sherawat and Ashmit patel. Murder was a huge box office hit and earned Hashmi with lots of publicity all around the country. It was after this movie that Emraan was assigned a very popular name of serial kisser. Even Mallika Sherawat got huge applause from movie lover for giving those hot kisses scenes with Hashmi. His next film Zeher in 2005 did so very well. Then Aashiq Banayta Apne(2005) and Kalyug(2005). Both the movie was highly acclaimed. Especially Kalyug, in which Hashmi was acting with the rising star kunal Khemu worked a lot in bollywood. Soon Hashmi appeared in his movie Chocolate. Though the movie was not a big hit, but till then Hashmi achieved enormous fame with his video songs from various movies. In most of the songs Emraan was play backed by Himesh Reshamia, Atif Aslam and Kunal Ganjawala. Her tag name as a Serial kisser gained its momentum and Himesh made a comment in between that he was too nervous to give a kiss scene initially with her co actress Mallika. Due to his bold scenes he always remained in controversies. Most of the time censor board raised question on his performance. Recently Emraan  has got a new release in 2007 with Awarapan which is doing well in bollywood.
