Bipasha Basu is a leading actress and a super model of bollywood industry. She is a well known figure of India. Her glamour and fame is not just restricted to Indian territory, rather she has continuously been listed as one of Asia’s sexiest women.

Born in the year, January 7, 1979 in New Delhi, Bipasha hails from a well cultured Bengali family. She has two sister Bidisha and the Vijayeta. Later her family left Delhi and moved to kolkata. Bipasha pursued her 12th from kolkata and then opted for commerce. Bipasha always wanted to be a doctor, but as she couldn’t cope up with dissection process in laboratory and consequently gave up her idea of being a doctor. Her debut in modeling and then acting was totally accidental. In 1996 Bipasha met with a model named as Mehr Jessia who prompted her to participate in Godrej Cinthol Super Model Contest. Eventually Basu won the title. After this break through, Bipasha was sent to New York by the Ford Company where her modeling career reached up to its pinnacle. There in New York, Bipasha was photographed by world famous Steven Meisel. She could have easily reached up to the zenith of success by pursuing there in New York, but she came back to India saying that she couldn’t live without her family and her countrymen.

After achieving name and fame through her modeling career Bipasha made her mind to jump in to bollywood industry and made her debut with the movie Ajnavee. Acting with the renowned star cast like Akshay Kumar, Boby Deol and Kareena Kapoor Basu proved herself that she is none less than them. Her role was highly praised which eventually earned her Filfare Best Female Debut Award. In 2002 Basu was seen in Vikram Bhatt`s thrill horror movie, Raaz. After years of gap, bollywood got a successful horror movie which every one cherished. Raaz fetched her nomination in Filfare Best Actress Award.

Meanwhile Bipasha performed in few albums like ‘Tu’ amd Kismat which gathered huge applause from every corner of India.In 2004 her movie Jism was highly appreciated by teens all across the country. This movie gave her a sex symbol. She acted well in movie No Entry(2005). Her appearance in Phir Hera Pheri also marked her success in a comedy role. She received decent applause in Corporate. Recently her hot performance in Dhoom-2 with most lovable actor of this time Hrithik Roshan gave her an overseas fame. Finally her heart throbbing performance in dance number of Omkara, ‘ beedi’ was critically acclaimed.
